Monday, 6th July, 1964, signed and inscribed by each of the Beatles on the cover in black ink to Victor Spinetti To Victor a chip off the old potatoe (sic) John, To a pal indeed! - Victor! from Paul McCartney, To Victor Best Wishes from Ringo Starr and To Victor the Welsh get, best wishes from George Harrison additionally signed on the reverse by George's mother Louise Harrison; and Victor Spinetti's unused ticket for the Royal World Premiere of A Hard Day's Night, Dress Circle, London Pavilion, Piccadilly Circus, Monday, 6th July, 1964 (2)

Lot Essay

Victor Spinetti had been unable to attend the premier of the film A Hard Day's Night as he was working in the theatre that evening. He was however able to go to the supper party afterwards. John Lennon's inscription on Spinetti's menu A chip off the old potato is a reference to Spinetti's father who owned a fish and chip shop in south Wales.
