Lot Essay

Victor Spinetti had been unable to attend the premier of the film A Hard Day's Night as he was working in the theatre that evening. He was however able to go to the supper party afterwards. John Lennon's inscription on Spinetti's menu A chip off the old potato is a reference to Spinetti's father who owned a fish and chip shop in south Wales.
