A Swedish kingwood, mahogany and marquetry commode, 20th century
in the Transitional style, applied with gilt-metal mounts, of slightly breakfront outline, the eared green marble top above a Vitruvian scroll and guilloche-mounted frieze drawer, with central fall front below decorated with a ribbon-tied medallion depicting cupid playing the flute, flanked to either side by two trellis marquetry deep drawers, the shaped apron mounted with a ribbon-tied laurel wreath, on cabriole legs with foliate scrolling sabots -- 52½in.
