of shouldered ovoid form with short oval neck, the milky white glass cased in amethyst, etched and carved with five swallows perched on a branch within a floriform frame against berried vines, the reverse with engraved inscription 'La pluie au bassin fait des bulles, Les hirondelles sur le toit, Font des conciliabules, Voici l'hiver, voici le froid! - Th. Gautier', engraved signature Gallé and dated 1900 -- 24.8cm. high
