The oval mahogany case with ribbed sides, front plate mounted with white enamel Roman chapter ring, recessed centre with visible Brocot escapement, steel moon hands, twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell, conforming aneroid barometer dial below with skeletonized centre, flanked by two brass Réaumur thermometers, with alcohol and mercury respectively, each signed BILLANT A PARIS -- 21¼in. (54cm.) high
