A George III oak thirty-hour longcase clock, circa 1790
The case with chamfered top hood with turned pilasters, crossbanded breakarch trunk door, on stepped plinth, the 10½in. (26.5cm.) square brass dial (later gilt) with scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, signed WHITERN on a scroll to the centre and Abingdon below, the four pillar movement with outside countwheel strike -- 80½in. (204cm.) high
