Lot Essay

This doll is dressed in a copy of the wedding dress worn by Elizabeth Giles who married Philip Trevor of the Royal Norfolks in the village Church in Thursley, Hants. in 1889. Her father was MP for Southampton and her husband later was Cricket and Rugby Correspondent for the Daily Telegraph. He managed the England Cricket Team in Australia when they won the Ashes in 1910.
