The royal pieces of mushroom-shape, the tops carved with radiating stiff-leaf ornament, the queens distinguished by horn and ivory inlaid nipples to the tops, the bishops with crescent finials, the knights and rooks with inverted trumpet-shaped finials, distinguished by horn and ivory inlaid nipples to the tops
the kings -- 2in. (5cm) high, the pawns -- 1½in. (3.8cm) high
