A Delft blue and white dated posset-pot and cover
Dutch or Frisian, the cauldron-shaped body supported by three feet, applied with barley-twist handles, the spout formed as a dragon's head, the finial as a sconce with scroll handles, painted with a maid milking, two men scything, two women raking and figures in a cart, within oval panels on a ground painted with birds among flowers, the cover with similar ornament, the base dated 1712, (damages and repairs to cover, chip to spout and some flaking) -- 26cm. high See illustration
