Udhava returns to Mathura
bringing presents to Krishna from the gopis in Ambadi, gouache heightened with gold on paper, in an open courtyard, the king, Ugrasena, receives Udhava in the presence of Krishna who offers him a gold bowl, several courtiers attend, beyond the courtyard among the small white houses, Krishna's bullock cart can be seen and Krishna receives the presents from Udhava among a group of people, gold and black meandering vine border between yellow rules, red leaf, devanagai inscription on verso and on attached leaf, (flaking and wear to upper portion), Central India, Datia or Orcha, late 18th century - 29.5 x 43cm.
