A Victorian mahogany two-day marine chronometer Parkinson & Frodsham, No.611, Circa 1830, The silvered dial signed PArkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, LONDON No.611, Roman hour numerals, outer minutes chapter with outer Arabic five minute markers, subsidiary second and up-and-down dials, all hands of blued steel, small size movement -- 56mm diam. within drum dust cover, the top plate inscribed Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, London, Earnshaw escapment, cut bimetallic balance spring, spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, brass bowl with three convex springs mounted at the top to carry the weight of the dial plate and movement, and with Parkinson & Frodsham format of sprung locking arm assembly, gimballed in plain three-tier mahogany box (replacement top lid), inset bone ivory disc (blank) to front of middle section, external brass drop handles -- 82mm. dial diam., 160mm. sq. box.
