A fine and detailed builder's style 1:25 scale model of the Kaizermarine Submarine U-1, originally built by Fried.Krupp AG Germaniawerft, Kiel-Garten 1906 and modelled from his own research and drawings by G.M.Butler with railed conning tower with attack and normal periscopes with lenses, two collapsible ventilators mounted fore and aft, the fore with signal mast attached, fore and aft planes, hatches, deck rails, bollards, similated tank cleaning hatches, upper and lower rudders with yoke, twin shafts with 'A'brackets and three blade propellors, mushroom anchors, lifebelt and dinghy lashed to the stern casing and engine water intakes, finished in grey and black with red plimsol line, mounted on two turned brass columns, display base and perspex cover -- 20 x 72in.(51 x 183cm)
