A sampler by Sarah Munson 1840 worked in cross stitch in coloured silks, with a central cartouche with a classical scene, a verse above and bordered with motifs including lions, a church and other buildings, within a border of trailing flowers--16 x 17¾in. (40 x 44cm.); and another similar by Hannah Mariah Munson, 1842, worked in cross stitch in coloured wools, with a village scene worked in the centre, "The silom [sic]", a verse above, the field with spot motifs--16½ x 16in. (41 x 40cm.), both framed and glazed (2)
