The case modelled in the form of an early renaissance lantern clock, with bell to top and arched glazed panels to the sides, spire finials and foliate cast front, the dial with individual white enamel Arabic chapters and blued trefoil hands, an enamel plaque to the centre with retailer's signature Howard & Co New York, platform lever escapement, with strike on gong to the backplate stamped 785 -- 8½in. (22cm.) high
