The case with gilt-brass flambeau urn finials to the inverted bell top, pierced and engraved sound frets above glazed panels to the sides and conforming frets to the front door, on winged ball and claw feet, the brass dial within a giltwood and composition slip, shell and scroll spandrels to the brass chapter ring with arcaded engraving, engraved centre with mock pendulum and date apertures, signed on a plaque in the arch Augustin Heckhel Wienn, flanked by subsidiary strike/not strike and repeat/not repeat rings, the three train movement with verge escapement striking and repeating on two bells, scroll engraved backplate, pull trip repeat -- 17½in. (45cm.) high
