An Edwardian ebonised and gilt-bronze mounted quarter-chiming bracket clock, early 20th century
The case with waisted pediment surmounted by a pineapple finial, conforming finials to the angles, pierced gilt-metal sound frets to the sides centred by radiant child masks, shell and scroll mounts to the top of the trunk door, formerly flanked by columns, on stepped and moulded rectangular base with bun feet, the gilt-brass dial with shell and scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with matted centre, subsidiary chime/silent and Eight bells/Westminster chimes to the arch, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, hour striking on gong with quarter chimes on a nest of eight bells via a pinned cylinder -- 27in. (68.5cm.) high
