Further details
Studio PFR was the design office of Gio Ponti, Antonio Fornaroli, and Albero Rosselli. Although it is impossible to attribute the design of this desk to any one designer within this consultancy, there are stylistic elements to this desk that relate strongly to other examples of Ponti's work. This may be evidenced by the shape of the glass desk top, a form which is later repeated in a marble dining table, and in the rectangular wooden panel applied to the side of the desk, which is comparable to similar devices employed as decorative features to a bookcase (Domus 375, February 1961). It is understood that this desk was one of two designed for Alfa Romeo.
