Clarice Cliff's post-war work confuses collectors who find it hard to understand the contrast with her brightly coloured Art Deco work. She was in reality designing anything that would sell in the Fifties, for a market dominated initally by Overseas customers and traditional taste. The flying mallard wall pocket demonstrates that Clarice designed for every taste!
