A late 18th-Century 2¾-inch lacquered-brass reflecting telescope,
signed on the body-tube Nairne, London, with screw-rod focusing, primary and secondary speculum mirrors, the body-tube secured by two butterfly-wing screws to the tapering pillar support and folding tripod stand, the cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, with the original fitted oak case -- 18in. (45.7cm.) long, the base applied with an advertisement for THE NATURAL HISTORY OF ANIMALCULES BY ANDREW PRITCHARD
