A slender tapering vase with short everted neck, painted and gilt with a continuous scene depicting numerous figures crossing a bridge before pavilions and teahouses on a riverbank, further figures in the distance fording the water towards thatched cottages in a tree strewn mountainous valley, the shoulder and foot with floral and geometric motifs -- 12in. (30.5cm.) high, signed and sealed Ryozan, (some gilt rubbing.)
