An interesting violoncello, probably English, first half of the 18th Century, unlabelled; the two-piece back of almost plain wood, the ribs similar, the scroll possibly a replacement, the front of medium grain with purfled stylized floral decoration, the varnish of a golden brown colour, the length of back 28 5/16in.
