Approx. 170 photographs, the majority gelatin silver prints the majority with 6¾ x 5in. to 8½ x 6½in., many with ink or pencil grid on recto or pencil tracing on verso, some with paint marks on recto.

A range of portrait and genre subjects including nine using the artist as one of the models, a series of approx. thirty studies of a female black model posed with basketware, pots and children, others of southern European models in various poses, often carrying heavy objects, many obviously used directly by the artist for reference.
