A Chinese export brown and gold lacquered wood tea caddy
of lobed quatrefoil section, the hinged cover decorated in relief with overlapping circles, painted in gilt with scenes of figures at leisure on terraces before pavilions, trees, insects and flowers, the feet carved as mythical winged beasts, the interior fitted with a square pewter liner and hinged cover with incised decoration -- 8in. (20.3cm) wide, (slight wear).
