AN ALABASTER MONKEY JAR, the body in the form of a monkey playing the double pipes, surmounted by the cylindrical neck of the jar which gently widens towards the rim, traces of painted decoration, with representations of foliate forms, possibly lotus bud leaves, around the neck, mounted on square limestone base -- 8¼ in. (21 cm.) high including base, New Kingdom, circa Dynasty XIX (1307-1196 B.C.)
