A LARGE ANATOLIAN RED POTTERY STORAGE JAR, the polished piriform body with short neck and flaring rim, on flat base, decorated with five sets of vertical black lines on the neck, the shoulder with panels of stylized birds within a broad band of black wavy lines and hatching, inverted triangles with an encircling band of large zigzag lines below framing further stylized birds, rim repaired and chipped -- 19 in. (48.2 cm.) high, 2nd millennium B.C.
