NEWTON & SON'S New Terrestrial Globe
A 1½-inch (4cm.) diameter terrestial miniature globe, made up of twelve hand coloured engraved gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees, the ecliptic graduated in days and showing the symbols of the houses of the zodiac, the continents coloured in outline and the oceans showing the voyages of Captain Cook and Clark and Gore, the Arctic with legend Anjou 1823 but no Antarctic coastline shown (revarnished, some light chipping), steel axis pins, contained in a cylindrical turned wooden case, with ink inscription to base "B Critchells The Gift of Thomas Wright 1857" (lacking cover)
