A 12-inch (30.5cm.) diameter celestial library globe, made up of twelve hand coloured engraved gores laid from ecliptic pole to ecliptic pole, the equatorial graduated in degrees, and hours and minutes, the ecliptic graduated in days, and showing the symbols of the houses of the zodiac and the months, the nebulae, stars to seven orders of magnitude and the constellations shown, the equinoctial and solstitial colures divided, the ecliptic lines of latitude and longitude shown (short cracks to southern celestial pole, surface a little rubbed and marked), steel axis pins to celestial poles, with brass meridian ring divided into four quadrants and brass hour ring graduated I-XII twice, the hand coloured engraved horizon ring divided into four quadrants and showing the months and days, and the houses and symbols of the zodiac (light wear), mounted on four mahogany quadrant supports on turned column with brass locking screw for meridian ring, the tripod legs with castors -- 33in. (64cm.) high
