The urn case with bellflower mounts to the side-fluted cover with pineapple finial, entwined serpent handles, with lanceolate leaf and budding mounts to the underside, on spreading socle with stiff leaf ornament, flanked by a figure of Cupid indicating the time on a revolving horizontal white enamel Arabic chapter ring (possibly replaced), embellished with further mounts to the side of a plumed helmet, flaming torch and garlands, on stepped square section moulded plinth, with relief cast panels to each side depicting river gods, on grey bardiglio marble base with inset Vitruvian scroll mounts, some chipping to marble; the twin barrel movement with ratchet tooth lever escapement striking on a bell and stamped for ROBLIN FILS & FRÈRES PARIS
