painted with a couple at leisure by a lake, signed, within a two-tone gilt octagonal panel, the reverse painted with a river, on a dark blue ground, the handles cast as winged female busts, on a beaded foot above a footed octagonal base, late 19th century (wear to gilt) -- 29.5cm. high
