the oviform dark blue ground body painted with an 18th century couple in a garden, within raised gilt scrolling cartouche, the reverse with a château in woodland, signed, the cover painted with panels of devices, applied with a leaf and fruit cast finial, and beaded rim, three feet with rams' head and hoof terminals above a shaped triangular base, late 19th century -- 32cm. high
