the shaped rectangular case painted with Venus and Cupid in a 'jewelled' gilt panel below a dial painted with a winged putto among clouds, the sides with panels of devices, surmounted by a compressed urn and cover painted with a putto, mounted with a flame finial, leaf handles and a quiver and torch trailing flowers, the base with a mask shield, wood stand, late 19th century (some jewels lacking and slight wear) -- 55cm. high overall
