An 18th-Century brass equinoctial mechanical minute dial,
unsigned, the dial vertical support and horizontal plate profusely engraved with flowers and foliage, the minute dial operated with gear motion supporting a latitude arc engraved 0°-90°, the vertical support arranged to fold, the octagonal horizontal plate with silvered compass, blued-iron needle with brass cap, with folding plummet attachment (plummet missing), the underside with three feet and the lower face of the compass box engraved with the latitudes of seventeen continental cities and towns -- 3¼in. (8.2cm.) wide
