Details
A well engineered gas fired live steam generating set,
built by G.B. Young, comprising a Stuart No. 4 Babcock type boiler with normal fittings, Cheddar ceramic burner, hand feed pump with feed water pre-heater and water tank and lagged main steam line to twin cylinder vertical compound engine with blued steel clad cylinders 1in. and 1½in. bores x 1in. stroke, displacement lubricator and regulator valve, draincocks and pipe, lagged transfer pipe, rear frame incorporated slipper type crosshead guides, rear frame mounted condenser and pipework with gear driven cooling water circulating pump, water tank and flexible coupling from the crankshaft to separate disc flywheel with wire rope driven Stuart round frame dynamo, output 4v1A at 3000 rpm, the whole finished in green black and polished brightwork and mounted on two wood and metal bases with red upper surfaces, measurements overall -- 18 x 22½in. (45.7 x 57.2cm.), Boiler Certificate valid to 1.5.98
