An exhibition standard 3in. scale model of an Allchin single cylinder four shaft two speed General Purpose Traction Engine,
built by A.S. Prescott between 1947 and 1988 with silver soldered copper boiler with fittings including water gauge with glass protector and shut-off cocks, pressure gauge, safety, blower, injector, water lift, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder 2 1/8in. bore x 3in. stroke, trunk type crosshead guide, displacement and mechanical lubricators, Stephenson's link reverse, valve spindle guide, bolted and wedged big end with split brasses, eccentric driven feed pump with expansion dome and two bypasses, two road speeds and spoked flywheel. Chassis details include worm and roller chain steering, spoked straked wheels with brass hubcaps, foot plate controlled damper, cable drum, cable and fair leads, water lift and suction pipe with rose, tank level test cocks, band brake to third shaft, differential locking pin, footboard with tool box and padlock under, wick type oil pots and pipes to shaft bearings and other details, finished in black, brown, maroon and red with yellow and red lining and Allchin transfers (some minor paint loss, probably due to heat) -- 33¼ x 51in.
