Cropped at foot with loss of correspondent's address, integral leaf cut away.

Autograph letter signed ("Guy de Maupassant") to an unnamed gentleman, 2 pages, 8°, integral blank leaves, Villa Continentale, Cannes, n.d. [November 1889], explaining that because of his brother's sudden death he left for the Midi when he was about to see his correspondent about renting an apartment in the Avenue Victor Hugo; he will make a decision on his return.
Both leaves stamped by the recipient "A. Garrigueno, Architecte," traces of adhesive tape on verso of second leaf. (2)
