An unusual fan, the leaf painted with a couple dancing in a park whilst three others watch, with a stag hunt beyond, the verso with birdcatchers and a farmer with a sickle, the ivory sticks carved, pierced and painted with figures, chinoiserie and fruit, the handle carved hollow, the foot of the sticks also with a row of four "spy-holes"- 11in. (28cm.), probably English, circa 1740 (slight chip to one guardstick)
