Originally a travelling-arm machine; the mounting plate for the travelling arm is still present. Some of these machines were converted to sound-arm or tone-arm at the factory, or by the original suppliers, but in that case the back-bracket was usually mounted off-centre, to cover the travelling-arm mounting holes. This example has a central back-bracket, which may have been added later.
