of rectangular form, painted and gilt with scenes of a lady seated beside a gentleman playing a clarinet in a river landscape, a fisherman on a rocky bank, two men rolling barrels along the ground and further figures in river landscapes, all within underglaze blue and gilt foliate borders, the inner cover with an attendant before a Chinese lady seated in an interior, the underside with flowersprays, gilt metal mounts -- 2¾in. (7cms) wide, 18th century, (glaze lightly crazed).
