A Chinese export teabowl and saucer
painted in coloured enamels with a scene of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Eve reaching out to pluck fruit from the serpent's mouth, both on a riverbank before birds in flight and scattered trees, the interior with fruit and flowersprays -- the saucer 5 1/8in. (13cms) diam, 18th century with later Dutch decoration, (section of saucer rim chipped off, couple of minute rim nibbles to teabowl).
