with golden brown curly mohair, deep amber and black glass eyes, black stitched 'button' nose and mouth, swivel head, jointed limbs, rexine pads and label stitched to left arm --10in. (25cm.) tall, circa 1953 (lacks red knitted woollen hat and scarf, slight wear to tips of paws and feet)

Toffee was a character from the 1950s BBC children's radio programme 'Listen With Mother'. Jane Alan later published a book of stories about his adventures with a little girl called Lulupet. J.K. Farnell also made a Toffee teddy bear in the 1960s.
