A Steiff teddy bear
with apricot mohair, black boot button eyes, pronounced 'cone' nose, remains of black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, elongated jointed shaped limbs, large 'spoon' shaped paws and feet, hump and button in ear --28in. (71cm.) tall, circa 1906 (pads recovered, repair patch to left arm and right ankle, recovered felt nose, slight fading to blond); sold with his original chair, stamped THONET; and two original photographs, one depicting this bear seated in his chair with his original owner outside their home, the other of the little girl alone.

This bear was originally owned by Miss Peel, born 1901. One of the two photographs pictures both Miss Peel and her bear outside their home, Fern Hill, Laugharn, South Wales in 1906
