A rare Steiff Rod Bear
with pale apricot mohair, black boot button eyes, remains of sealing wax nose, beige thread mouth, horizontal seam across head from ear to ear, pronounced clipped snout, swivel head, elongated jointed shaped limbs, hard body, five embroidered claw stitches, felt pads, card reinforced feet and metal rod jointing --15in. (38cm.) tall, circa 1904 (lacks button, tiny hole to lower snout, areas of fading to a gold colour, repair patch to right paw pads, small moth damage to pads, wear to outer upper left arm, tips of paws and feet, loss of sealing wax nose)
