A collection of correspondence and photographs associated with the career of Eileen Gardner, personal assistant to many Hollywood stars including Ava Gardner, Frank Sinatra, Eddie Fisher, Doris Day, Dean Martin, Clark Gable, Laurence Harvey and Diana Ross, various letters include:
- A typescript letter, signed, from Groucho Marx, February 14th, 1958, on Marx's personalised stationary thanking Eileen ...for the likeness. Apparently there's no limit to my ugliness!, Regards, Groucho Marx 1p;
- A quantity of correspondence from Princess Grace of Monaco, including two autograph letters, signed, an autograph poem and a typescript letter, signed, various dates 1956-1964, one autograph letter, signed, July 15th [1957] discussing a recent visit to Rome ...It was the first time I had been there since our visit -- What a funny time we had - and how much we ate!! My constitution is not that strong any more - one canneloni a day is all I can manage ... and discussing a chalet they have rented in the mountains ...The baby loves it as it was so terribly hot when we left Monaco - she really is a dream child so beautiful that I can hardly bear it... 3pp;
