With browned two-stage slightly belled Spanish barrel with gold fore-sight, gold-inlaid decoration and gold band at the muzzle, gold-inlaid chiselled girdle, the octagonal breech section with gold-inlaid inscription 'De Herraduras En Eibar Año De 1815', and stamped with a gold-lined cross and a gold-lined fleur-de-lys above the gold-lined punzón of José Aguirre of Eibar, recessed patent breech with gold-lined maker's stamp and four gold lines, platinum-lined touch-hole, finely engraved case-hardened tang, finely engraved case-hardened lock signed in full and inscribed 'Patent 599', with swept rainproof pan, two rollers, and signed patent steel, No. 599, figured walnut half-stock (some bruising), chequered grip, engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard with foliate finial, silver escutcheon engraved with initials 'JWB', silver barrel-bolt escutcheons and fore-end cap, original brass-tipped ramrod, and traces of original finish, London proof marks
