With twist octagonal sighted barrel signed 'Forsyth & Co. Patent. Gun Makers. London' on the top flat, case-hardened patent breech with two platinum lines and platinum plug, foliate engraved tang incorporating the back-sight, signed foliate engraved detented lock with safety-catch, figured walnut half-stock, chequered butt, blued iron mounts including finely engraved trigger-guard, silver escutcheon, fore-end cap and barrel-bolt escutcheons, set trigger, and some original finish (ramrod missing), London proof marks
