With signed case-hardened octagonal sighted barrels engraved with a band of stylised foliage at the muzzle, scroll engraved case-hardened actions with a gold line at each breech, blued belt hooks and folding triggers, finely chequered walnut butts, scroll engraved shaped silver pommels, silver escutcheons engraved with a crest, stirrup ramrods, and much original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with numerous accessories, the lid with trade label (oil stained) and flush-fitting carrying handle (one compartment lid repaired, the other apparently associated), London proof marks

A piece of paper in the case is inscribed 'Pair of Belt Pistols with the crest of Lord De Tabley of Tabley House, Knutsford, Cheshire. Circa 1830'
