A Pair Of French 40-Bore Small Silver-Mounted Flintlock Pistols

With blued two-stage barrels each with stamped and gilt sunburst, gilt octagonal breeches, engraved tangs, signed engraved flat bevelled locks each with safety-catch behind the cock, moulded figured walnut full stocks (one fore-end replaced) carved with a floral spray at the barrel tangs, full silver mounts cast and chased with rococo ornament including spurred pommels each with oval cap, chased respectively with a portrait bust of Diana and a Roman emperor, and ebony-tipped ramrods, Nantes discharge mark (one trigger-guard broken)
