With two-stage barrel with a ring at the muzzle, and turned girdle, the engraved breech section octagonal then polygonal, signed in full and with punzón (Neue Støckel 1031) and small gold-lined decorative mark above, gold-lined touch-hole, engraved tang, engraved signed and dated lock with chiselled details and further gold-lined punzón, moulded stained fruitwood full stock, engraved iron mounts including spurred pommel with chiselled and gilt cap in the form of a warrior's profile head, long belt hook with pierced finial, and later ramrod

Isidro Soler, disciple of Francisco López, was born in the village of Altarriva in 1740-41. Appointed honarary gunsmith to Carlos III in 1776, he is best known for his Compendo histórico de los arcabuceros de Madrid published in 1795. In 1797 he was chosen to care for the personal arms of Carlos IV. During the Peninsular War he was the only one of the four royal gunsmiths to survive, regaining his royal appointment in 1814, until his complete disability in 1818. He died in 1825
