Lot Essay

The first edition of 1928 shows Piglet with a small stick in his right paw. Between 1956 and 1958, the image was redrawn for publishing before being exhibited at the Foyles Art Gallery where it was purchased by the present vendor. This is the image we are now accustomed to and that is still seen in today's line drawing publications.
