the sides and lid with applied cut steel strap-work, the interior fitted with a variety of mother-of-pearl fittings comprising: two winders, a needlecase, a stiletto, a seal knife, a further knife, a thimble, a pair of scissors, a crochet hook, an ear spoon, a scent bottle, a further broken implement and a non-matching penknife, many pieces with applied pansy motif, the case further fitted with six silver-topped bottles, two wooden needlecases and two funnels, the base fitted with a musical movement,
