the rectangular top above a panelled frieze drawer between gilt metal floral mounts with gilt floral, foliate and bird decoration, the fall front enclosing a fitted interior with a leather lined writing surface and an arrangement of five drawers, with a pair of similarly decorated panel doors below enclosing four drawers between stop-fluted uprights flanked by decorative panels to each side depicting courtly figures within pagoda landscape, on turned and tapering feet, stamped Lanneau to the reverse, the lacquer panels possibly applied later -- 27½in.
